Questions people ask

What is the last date to file an income tax return?

For most salaried people and individuals without business income, the due date is 31 July after the tax year ends. Returns with business income but no audit are due 31 August, and returns with audited accounts are due 31 October. The government sometimes extends these dates, and we track every change.

What happens if I miss the due date?

You can still file a late return, but a late fee applies and some benefits, such as carrying forward certain losses, are lost. Interest may also apply on tax not paid on time. File as early as you can.

Should I choose the old or the new tax regime?

It depends on your deductions: house rent, home loan interest, insurance and investments. We work out your tax under both and file under the one that costs you less.

I received an income tax notice. Can you help?

Yes. Send us the notice and your return for that year. We read it, explain what the department is asking, and prepare and file the reply.

Do I need to visit your office?

No. Most clients send documents on WhatsApp or email. You are welcome to meet Neha at our Sector 38 office by appointment.

How long does filing take?

Usually 2 to 3 working days after we receive complete documents. Returns with capital gains or business income can take a little longer.
